Blur has discontinued providing the brochure service. Instead, they link you up to the magazine service. I have made both "brochures" and "magazines" with Blurb, and can attest that they are each distinct products. One should not replace the other. Was this not cost effective?

I loved the paper quality in the brochure; I have designed the same content in the magazine format. I prefer the magazine binding and I did notice that BLURB NOW gives you a premium paper choice. I will try that.
I did notice that when the "magazine" product was shipped, some of the key pages were crinkled. My product is for presentation work and must be picture and feel-good perfect. I'll keep trying because I believe in BLURB.
Well, they did add a premium magazine product which is much better than the substandard quality of the magazine product they first replaced the brochure with. I recommend that you use PREMIUM if you want to make a magazine, but the brochure was indeed quite different in both feel and structure: the brochure, for instance, had saddle stitching, which could make for a seamless center spread. This is no longer possible with the magazine. I still encourage Blurb to bring back the brochure. Charge more if you need to but do not nix it.
