I noticed this issue a few days ago, saw the post regarding upgrading booksmart to 3.4.6 so tried that but still cannot get picasa to open from booksmart. Help!
Booksmart on both Windows/Mac no longer imports photos from Picasa Web Albums
The title says it all. Booksmart (latest version, 3.4.6) can no longer log into Picasa Web Albums on both our Windows and our Mac computers, even though our Google security settings page indicates that Booksmart has credentials to access Picasa Web Albums.
Clicking the "Get Photos from..." button in Booksmart opens the Picasa login window. Entering our Google username and password takes us to our internet browser, where Google brings up the window to "accept" Booksmart and confirm the permission.
But then Booksmart hangs on getting to Picasa. This happens on both of our machines, as noted.
So, we can't work on any of our books!
Has anyone run into this?

I just run into the same problem. All my pictures saved on my google account and I cannot upload them into the booksmart :-(
Still unresolved! Any news from Blurb?
Same problem. I've informed Blurb Support team, but they can't replicate the problem...as yet.
I am having the same problem.
I am working on a book in Booksmart and am trying to access my Picasaweb Albums for the photos that I need to create this book. Until today, a connection would be made and one album was chosen by Booksmart out of the many (the wrong one, naturally). Today, trying again, I get 'No Albums' read-out. What is going on? Either, Blurb want me to create a book (and if so, make the connection), or or they do not, in which case tell me to go find someone else's software.
I just started a book and Booksmart allowed me to import from Picasa first time I tried. But next set of pictures I tried to import, it only brought up the 2 Public albums I have in Picasa (out of ~150 albums). I went searching in HELP for answers and found this discussion. Was about to contact Blurb on issue. But realized I could try changing Picasa album to "public" long enough to import into Picasa. I tried it and it worked. While in an album, click on "actions", choose "album properties", and then choose "public on the web" under visibility. After you have gone back to Booksmart and imported what you need, you can change Picasa album back to whatever other visibility you have chosen. Hope this helps others.
I have been using Blurb and Picasa together to create my photo books for a few years now. The fact that we can no longer easily pull in pictures from Picasa is very frustrating. I have loaded the latest version of Booksmart and I still can't load my Picasa albums into Blurb. As one person commented the only thing that works as far as I know is to go into Picasa and make your album public. Then go back to Blurb to load your pictures from that album. Then go back to Picasa to make your album private again.
