Update for Book Wright fails to extract.

I went to upload my book to Blurb and was given the notice that the book would not upload until the latest update was installed.  Every time I try to load the update, it fails with an error message that "it can't extract the update."  I have gone to the website looking for the updates for BookWright but only see those for Book Smart.  Emailed Blurb, no response.  Anyone else having issues?

I've been having the issue for weeks too.  I'm using Mac OSX Version 10.9.4.

I am having the exact same issue, and now I cannot even open bookwright to see if my book is still there.  Have you figured this out or heard back from blurb?

When I finally heard back from tech support I was told to delete the BookWright app on my Mac & reinstall it. Your book is stored on their server so it is still there! I deleted BookWright, reinstalled it (my book was still there, 100% intact) and was able to upload it

I had backed up my book on a memory stick but when I did that, some of the pictures in the book disappeared from the book when I ejected the memory stick. I closed out book wright and reopened it. To my relief the pictures were still there in the book. Tech support had no clue what happened. Any one else have the same problem? Picture still on memory stick and when I open the book in BookWright they're there, but not sure I want to use BookWright for next book.

I am having the same issue and am on a tight publishing deadline.  I'm afraid to delete bookwright and reinstall it.  Why then wouldn't my book disappear?  Hoping tech support will get back to me soon.

Same issue here, update fails to extract, and I cant upload my current project. Reinstalled, and run as admin, no luck!

Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I am using Windows 10. Deleting / reinstalling did not help as every time I try to upload my book, I get a popup saying I need to update the software (and the software's either not updated or the book's not uploaded).

I have the same updater issue with Bookwright and this is my second attempt to get help from them. Have reinstalled the program twice (on Windows 10). Seems it must surely be a simple solution somewhere but there is utter silence!

I'm having the same issue today on a project i started last August. I'm worried that uninstalling will lose my latest edits or the entire book

If the updater in Bookwright fails, please download and reinstall Bookwright again at the following link:
www.blurb.com/bookwright

Your projects should be fine since your books are saved in a different location than the software.

Hi,

3 years later... Same problem here with version 1.3.3 and the previous one. I'm working under Windows 10 Pro 1803. Each time, I have to download the installer and reinstall. This doesn't make me very confident in this software. I have now downloaded installed version 1.3.4 but I guess the same problem will re-appear with the next update.
