Import fees

I just made 5 cookbooks (order no. 8290164) which came to a total of £ 81,67. Out of this the tax is 16,34£. Is that the VAT? Now the UPS tried to deliver the books, but I was not at home. But I suddenly see, that I have to pay import fees for 283,95 DKR. That's more than half of the cost of the books. I understand that is the penalty of Brexit. I hope that you make a printing facility in an EU country, because with such a custom fee, you will loose European customers very fast. And that's a shame, because you have a good consept and good quality. But now it get's too expensive.

Hi. I have had similar issues with FedEx into the UK. They apply an excessive import processing fee of £12 on top of the order value and are very aggressive in their collection practices. I think this leaves a bad experience for your customer and you should either make the costs explicit at time of order if you can, or choose a delivery partner who does not engage in such questionable practices. This should be banned in my view as no contract exists between the buyer and FedEx.
