I've been having this exact same problem. Definitely an issue at there end if more than one of us is having it.
Failed to create a secure connection
I am having a hard time getting booksmart to upload my book to the site. It keeps saying Failed to Create a secure connection. I have done everything that they suggest. I don't have any type of firewall and I am connected to the internet. Any suggestions?

I have tried with 2 differents computers. Switch off all firewall, reinstall booksmart, change password, etc...
Still no possibility to upload a book.
A lot of time wasted in book creation, without any solution to print them !!!
I am glad to know that it isn't just me. I submitted a help ticket, but it says it is still waiting to be assigned. I have spent hours working on those books. Hoping that the issue is resolved so that we can get our books printed.

Wow! The same thing happened to me last night Friday, 01-22-2016.
I keep getting the same alert ; "Failed to create a Secure connection. I have tried everything. I'm almost in tears because I can't move on. My project is ready to go, but it is inside of Booksmart and would take forever to start over in something else.
me too! I hope Blurb will do the right thing and extend their offer window accordingly, once fixed :)
I've had the same problem over the past 24hr. I'm getting the message "Failed to Create a Secure Connection" every time I try to connect from Booksmart to Blurb. Given Blurb must be aware of this issue it would be useful for them to post a message on their website advising of this problem. It would avoid others wasting countless hours trying the things they suggest, none of which work.
So relieved to read others are having the same problem. I agree that I trust they will extend the discount's validity period. I am so, so, so frustrated!!

I have the same problem on my PC Server and notebook as well. This is probably problem with Blurb services! PLEASE could somebody from Blurb to help? I have a plan to order book but with this services - no deal!

Hi There, I have tried 3 different computers and spent over 3 hours trying to upload my book, all without success. I messaged the Twitter account for assistance without as response. I wonder of the upload server is malfunctioning. Will you be extending your "QUEST35" code?
I am running BookSmart v. 188.8.131.52818_en_US on Windows 7 as well as Windows 10.
Finally blurb have woken up!!
Had this message:
"I'm sorry to hear of the trouble uploading your BookSmart project. As of Jan 24, 2016 if you are not using BookSmart version 184.108.40.206820 or greater, you will no longer be able upload books using an older version of BookSmart. We apologize for the inconvenience, however this is a required security update to bring BookSmart up to date with latest security and privacy practices. [...]"
So get downloading the latest version of blurb people, and hope your book still works! I didn't get any answer to my question about extension of the offer window tho .....
During the numerous hours wasted trying to solve an issue that I thought was at my end, I downloaded Blurb's latest version available of BookSmart 3.4.7 3.4.7 34818 on Saturday 23 Jan and it still didn't work. Not surprising given they now say that as of Jan 24, 2016 you must have BookSmart version 220.127.116.11820 or greater. Sorry Blurb but that's not really a very satisfactory way of dealing with your customers by not advising beforehand.
