Regulations on models / people in sold photography books

Hi,

are there any regulations regarding people which are pictured in my book?

Do I need permission of the people portrayed in my book to use them in my photobook if I intend to sell it publicly?

Thank you.

I would also like an answer to this question.  Considering Blurb's standing as a publisher of photobooks, it would be great if they could offer some insights based on their now extensive experience in this field.

Hi Louis Sica,

As Blurb is a self-publishing platform and not a publisher (or a law firm) we cannot offer advice on copyright, permission, etc. A quick Google search should bring results though, as might checking the forums in one of the many sites out there dedicated to photographers, such as Flickr. Others have suggested wikipedia. It's possible another Blurb user may offer advice but, since laws often differ by country, you're better off researching (and verifying) things yourself to be absolutely sure.
