Save a layout
BookWright allows you to create and customize page layouts. To save a layout for re-use follow these steps.
1. Design the layout you want to save. Stay on the page or cover containing that layout.
2. Click on the Layouts section near the top center of your screen.
3. On the left hand side, click Save layout.
4. In the Save your layout window select the layout you'd like to save--left page, right page, or the page spread (both pages).
5. Give your layout a unique name and then click the Save Layout button.
6. You should now see that layout in the My Layouts section of the drop-down menu.
Saved layouts will be available for re-use in the same book and other books of the same format and size. For example, if you saved a layout for a 6x9 Trade book you'll see that same layout in My Layouts for other 6x9 Trade books...but not in 5x8 or 8x10 Trade books, magazines, or photo books.
Apply a layout
To apply a layout (whether it's a custom layout you've saved or one of BookWright's default layouts), follow these steps.
1. Go to the page (or cover) whose layout you want to change.
2. Click the Layouts button near the top center of the screen.
3. Find the layout you want to apply. You can use the layouts drop-down menu to the left to filter your options or find the My Layouts section with your saved layouts.
4. Once you've found the layout you want to apply just click, hold, and drag the layout onto your page.
- This will automatically apply the layout and will affect any text or photo on the page.
- Depending on the design of the new layout, you may need to drag and drop the layout to the facing page as well.
