What is the Wholesale Discount?

  • Updated

The wholesale discount is the compensation that retailers will receive for selling your book.
When you submit your book to the Global Retail Network, you choose a list price. The list price will include your book’s base cost (to produce the book), a profit of your choice and the wholesale discount.

Changing the wholesale discount will impact how and where the book is accessible. The greater the discount, the more attractive it is for the retailers to sell your book. This deeper discount also means a higher minimum retail price. Some retailers will only accept books with a 55% discount so selecting a 55% discount will ensure the broadest exposure.
