Some text containers from our pre-designed BookSmart layouts appear in Edit Layout Mode as locked with a padlock symbol.
These are text flow containers that allow BookSmart to automatically flow large amounts of text from one container to the next, from page to page. In order to keep the connection between the containers and prevent a jumble of mismatched text, the text flow containers are locked to prevent any changes from being made in the Edit Layout Mode.
If the text containers are empty, you can unlock them and make changes to the dimensions. Click on these containers while in Edit Layout Mode and a pop-up asks you to confirm that you want to unlock the container.
If there is text in a container, it is not possible to unlock the container and make changes in Edit Layout Mode. However, if you remove the text from all connected containers, you will then be able to unlock them to make changes.
