Blurb is required to charge VAT (value added tax) on all orders printed and delivered to destinations in EU countries in accordance with the tax laws governing members of the European Union.
The VAT rate is in accordance with local legislation. As a result, the VAT amount is subject to change per the guidelines of each country's tax authority.
The prices displayed on Blurb's Pricing and Shipping page, various marketing pages, and during checkout, will be marked to indicate whether VAT is included.
Blurb's default EU VAT rate for books is 6%. The Netherlands will be listed as the territory for which the collected VAT belongs when the default rate is applied. The VAT rate is applied to the price of the books and shipping costs for orders that will be delivered to any EU member state.
Blurb is required to collect 6% VAT for all EU member states with the exception of those EU countries in which our sales have surpassed that country's VAT sales threshold. The VAT rate may be different in these countries.
Different rates may apply for print books versus digital books. Digital books will be charged VAT based on the billing address. Print books will be charged VAT based on the shipping address. VAT may also apply to the shipping and handling charge.
Blurb orders shipped to addresses outside of the U.S. or EU may be subject to import duties and taxes that are levied once the package reaches the destination country.
