Sending a package to an overseas U.S. military base is relatively straightforward if you keep a few things in mind.
- Overseas U.S. military bases are considered domestic (U.S.) shipments. This means you need to select United States as the ship-to country. Do not select the country where the base is located.
- The city should be "APO" or "FPO" for a properly formatted APO FPO address.
- Select the "This is a P.O. Box" box.
- Please choose “Armed Forces (AE)” as the State option for any of these:
- Armed Forces Europe
- Armed Forces Middle East
- Armed Forces Africa
- Armed Forces Canada
You also have the option of Armed Forces (AA) which is for the Americas, and Armed Forces (AP) which is for the Pacific.
Here’s an example of a properly formatted APO address:
Name: PFC Jack Lyon
Address 1: 23rd Battalion
Address 2: Unit 1234, Box 56789
Country: United States
City: APO
State: AP
Zip/Postal Code: 96522-1215
